Is this something new? NO!
Working for tips is not something new in the entertainment business. Budgets are tight, and many malls, theme parks and fairs with high traffic are utilizing this compensation format. Also, some patrons can't always purchase a balloon if for sale. When entertaining with balloons at a mall, fair or theme park, I enjoy working for tips best. Folks who can't give a lot can get something. Since I'm working for tips, I am more comfortable with concept that folks give their money, instead of me charging and taking the money.
Furthermore, I firmly believe in not setting a particular amount for tips. If you set a "minimum tip," you're not working for tips. And folks who do not have to give, do not get. With me everyone gets. Regardless of Finances.
Is it professional? Of course!
My approach is professional. I approach folks before being approached. This way I can treat everyone the same, with a smile. When asked "How much for the balloons"? I respond, "It will cost you a smile." But a tip is appreciated. The amount a person tips is based upon performance, not just the features of the balloon. My performance is entertaining, I get my audience involved with every aspect of my show. Folks will see me as an entertainer, not just as a balloon sculptures. Anyone can learn how to make a balloon, but not everyone can be an entertainer. Being successful for over 20 years is not only because of my manufacturing and marketing skills, it's because of my people skills. I know how to communicate to my audience. Having fun is important, and I do it well.
If you are the person in charge for a fair, theme park, mall, or a huge special event. You need to call or email me. I want to discuss this opportunity further. I have the references and experience. Don't wait.
